Nerandomilast in Autoimmune ILD: FIBRONEER-ILD
In the 325 patients with autoimmune ILD and progressive pulmonary fibrosis in the FIBRONEER-ILD trial, the preferential PDE4B inhibitor nerandomilast reduced the 52-week decline in FVC by about 40%, and lowered the risk of a composite of acute exacerbation, respiratory hospitalisation or death. The effect matched the overall trial, but this is a subgroup the trial was not powered for: the FVC intervals crossed zero, and the effect on death rests on 31 deaths in total.
